Organic Vs Geometric shapes

Organic Shapes

Example of an Organic Shape
  • Organic shape are irregular shapes with inconsistent planes, radius.
  • Example - a stone, bones, sculpture or a hand carved object.
  • Organic shapes are difficult for creating a parametric model
  • Organic shapes are good for a ‘surface wrap’

Geometric Shapes

Example of an Geometric Shape
  • Geometric shapes have regular geometry with consistent planes, radius, draft protrusions.
  • Example - any consumer electronic product machined or molded parts.
  • Typically a solid model is more useful for geometric shapes.
