What is Registration?

Registration is the process of aligning the subject data with the reference data. The registration can be performed as an automatic (best fit) registration or some specified features such as datum planes, features, points can be used.

Deviation plot (Or Color plot) and Tolerance Plot

Deviation Plot - Deviation is represented by a gradient of colors over a surface with positive or negative deviation. Deviation is the distance between the subject and the reference entities.

Tolerance Plot – In a Tolerance plot, only the areas that are beyond the specified tolerance range are represented by colors. This helps in focusing on out of tolerance areas or features.

Section Views

Section views are 2d view that helps determine the exact amount deviation. The section also helps in verifying dimensions and location of specified features on a given part or assembly.
